Thank you for joining us in our 102nd year of service! By
exploring this website, you will learn more about the youngest, and one
of the largest, of the nine fire companies that comprise the Long Branch
Fire Department--the Independent Fire Engine & Truck Co. No. 2. We
will introduce you to our proud history and our exciting future as well
as offer a full examination of the many programs and services we
provide to our fellow citizens throughout the City of Long Branch, New
Jersey.
We happily welcome new members into our company once a month. It is easy to join and we pay all the costs of your training and equipment. Even if you don't want to actually fight fires but just want to participate in the fire department--we have a place for you.
We accept Active Members starting at age 18, Honorary Members at age 16 and Mascots (Jr. Firefighters) at any age (provided a family member joins with them).

In 2009, the volunteer firefighters of the Long Branch Fire Department were called to help our fellow residents more than 1,700 times--an average of more than four times every day of the year. While the vast majority of these calls are not actual emergencies, we, and our colleagues in the city's other eight fire companies, willingly leave our homes, jobs and families around the clock to ensure that when real emergencies do arise, you and your families are safe.
